Choose your departure city — we'll open live flights and prices on Trip.com. The hospital's coordinator will then help with the route, transfer and meet-and-greet.

If you don't pick a date, we'll show flights about a month ahead — it's easy to change in the search calendar.

How the route is planned

The nearest airport to the hospital is Yuncheng Airport. The drive from there to the hospital takes about 20 minutes, and the pickup and transfer are free for our patients.

There are no direct flights from the CIS to Yuncheng: families fly into one of the large Chinese hubs and continue by domestic flight or high-speed train. Which option works better depends on your departure city, your dates and on how well your child copes with travelling — so we do not name a single "correct" route.

Send the coordinator your intended course dates and departure city, and he will suggest connection options and help compare them by travel time and price. Once the tickets are booked, send him a photo of them and the exact arrival time — that is all we need to arrange the pickup.

Useful tips

  • Tickets are cheapest when booked 60–90 days before departure
  • An economy fare with one checked bag usually covers what a rehabilitation course requires
  • Do not buy non-refundable tickets before the visa is actually in the passport

What to pack in your carry-on

Flying with a child is a task of its own. A few key items in the carry-on make the journey noticeably easier:

Medical records: printed discharge summaries, the latest MRI/CT scans, reports from neurologists and orthopaedists. Keep copies on a flash drive and in the cloud. The coordinator sends a checklist in advance of what will be needed for the first assessment.

Medication for the journey: if your child takes anticonvulsants, muscle relaxants or special nutrition, carry at least a 5–7 day supply in the cabin, plus the doctor's prescription (in English or with a certified translation).

A change of clothes and nappies — for long flights with one or two connections it is worth having a full set.

A favourite toy or a tablet with cartoons — reduces anxiety during take-off and landing, especially for children with ASD or sensory disorders.

Travel adapters: China uses type A, C and I sockets — a universal adapter will not go to waste.

Chinese carriers offer children's meals — order one when booking the ticket, as it may not be available on board otherwise.
