Yuncheng People's Hospital
The hospital actively pursues a "one whole, two wings" development strategy, continuously raising the level of specialized medical care, including for international patients — the clinic has been welcoming families from abroad since 2018.
Over 80 years of medical practice
Yuncheng People's Hospital is a top-tier (tertiary) multidisciplinary medical institution founded in 1946. Over 80 years, the hospital has grown from a small medical facility into a leading medical center in Northern China, combining traditional Chinese medicine with modern Western approaches.
The hospital is located in the Yanhu district of Yuncheng city, Shanxi province. Its rehabilitation department focuses on post-surgical and orthopedic rehabilitation for children, cerebral palsy, genetic and neurological disorders, applying traditional Chinese medicine methods alongside equipment-based physiotherapy. The clinic has its own surgical unit and laboratory, allowing surgery and rehabilitation to be combined at a single institution.

Traditional Chinese medicine and Western methods
Combining time-tested traditional Chinese medicine methods with the latest achievements of Western medicine, an individualized approach to every patient, and comprehensive rehabilitation to restore the body's functions.
How we treat children in Yuncheng
Surgery and Rehabilitation in One Place
The hospital's own surgical unit and strong rehabilitation service allow, when indicated, minimally invasive surgery (SPML, SLOB, SDR, osteotomy) to be combined with subsequent rehabilitation without transferring to another institution.
Fast Admission
An in-person medical panel takes place as early as day 1–2 after the patient's arrival, so decisions about further treatment are made quickly.
Full-Profile Hospital
A top-tier state city hospital with its own laboratory and diagnostic equipment (MRI, CT, video-EEG monitoring) — admits patients quickly and is also suitable for adult cases.
How the rehabilitation department is equipped
Exercise-therapy halls with soft flooring, standing frames and gait trainers, equipment-based physiotherapy, speech-therapy, massage and sensory-integration rooms, play areas and rest rooms for children. The programme is assembled around each child individually — from what their condition actually calls for.

Head of the rehabilitation program

Dr. Xue Zhensuo
Neurologist, Pediatric CP Rehabilitation
Dr. Xue Zhensuo sees children with traumatic injuries of the central nervous system, paralysis of various origins, complications following infectious diseases, motor function impairments, genetically determined pathologies, as well as delays in motor, speech and psycho-speech development, sleep disorders and autism spectrum disorders.
He received his medical education at the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. He took advanced training at the Clinical Institute of Jiamusi University and studied at Hebei Medical University (Shijiazhuang). He has mastered the Vojta physiotherapy method and the Bobath approach to restoring motor activity.
As a traditional Chinese medicine specialist, he actively applies the Shangtian method. Manual therapy techniques help the doctor improve the condition of joints, overcome stiffness and expand patients' range of movement.
He commands a broad range of massage techniques: classical and cupping massage, gua sha scraping massage. He combines acupuncture with moxibustion to increase the effectiveness of the procedures.
In his work he uses biofeedback: it helps him read the patient's sensations more precisely and adjust the rehabilitation program on a sound basis.
He locates acupuncture points precisely and applies modern medical equipment and medication support to stimulate brain function. He uses advanced physiotherapy techniques in the rehabilitation of children with sensory integration disorders.
The doctor's rehabilitation programs often include hippotherapy, manageable manual work and speech practice — activities that not only aid recovery but also strengthen patients' positive outlook on life.
For seven years he headed the department of a clinic for the rehabilitation of patients with cerebral palsy in Shanxi province. He is a member of the IX Medical Union of Physiotherapists and Rehabilitation Specialists, a visiting specialist of the Institute of Cranial Acupuncture (Yuncheng) and a leading consultant on rehabilitation and traditional Chinese medicine.
