Acupuncture
Classical acupuncture and electroacupuncture targeting biologically active points on the head, back, and face.
How the procedure works
Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medicine method that Yuncheng People's Hospital uses in pediatric rehabilitation across several approaches: cranial acupuncture (needles on the scalp) to stimulate brain development and correct neurological disorders, electroacupuncture (classical acupuncture combined with weak electrical impulses), back and spine acupuncture for posture disorders and scoliosis, and facial acupuncture to improve facial and swallowing function.
The clinic collaborates with the Yuncheng Acupuncture Research Institute and applies methods developed by Professor Jiao Shunfa, based on evidence-based medicine.
What parents should know
Procedures are performed on an empty stomach or 1.5 hours after eating, with physical activity limited before and after the session; the clinic follows an age limit (from 3 months) and takes contraindications into account — elevated temperature and skin conditions.
Selecting the treatment area
Depending on the indications, the clinic selects an area: the head (cranial acupuncture), the back and spine, the face, or the limbs.
Needle insertion or electroacupuncture
The doctor inserts very thin sterile needles into biologically active points; with electroacupuncture, classical acupuncture is combined with weak electrical impulses.
